Holiday Tips

In a month i will be setting off with my mum for our Annual holiday, this time it's to sunny Crete. Now, how ever much I wish I was a beautiful mermaid with hair that doesn't get sun damaged and skin that doesn't make me look like a ghost with red splodges, it's just not who I am.

So here's my top tips when preparing to venture somewhere gorgeous and hot!

1. Eat well and work out. Now I don't mean a week before you go don't eat anything so you look like your about to keel over at any second, I mean a few months before you get on that plane just think about what your eating and take some time out of your day to do a little toning up. A few months ago I decided to purchased Holly Hogan's Body Bible, it has a weekly meal plan and a work out scheduled that I'm even able to keep up with. I'm starting to feel great and noticing a difference. I can tell you that in doing this it will make you feel that bit more confident when strutting around In your favorite bikini.

2. Purchase some fake tan. Now I am a fan of pale skin and I really wish I was one of those lucky people who has a flawless porcelain complexion but I am not so lucky. However the times I have made an effort to slap a little fake tan on before I go away it has given me a great boost of confidence so would always recommend doing this. But please remember to still pack some good old sun cream because even though you may look like a tanned goddess your skin is still delicate as ever.

3. Hair removal time. I'm defiantly not a girl who dares to go all natural so before I'm about to bare all on a beach I book myself in for an all over wax, I'm sure no one what's to see me looking like a lost chewbacca.

4. Treat yourself. Before I go away I want to feel my best, so I always treat myself to having my hair done, I always feel lovely after and it's good to treat yourself once in a while. Always take time out to do something that makes you feel special, like a massage or manicure, it'll make a worlds difference when you get to your new destination.

5. Packing prep. Ok I know a month in advance maybe a little to much for some of you happy go lucky people but I can suffer with feeling a little anxious if I'm not prepared, so I like to make a list of things I'm going to be packing and over time make sure everything is in order, it helps me feel calm and get into that holiday spirt.

By no means am I saying these are must dos, they are just a few things that make me feel good about myself before going away, so my lovely mermaids, hope you enjoy your summer. Xxx

Youtube

For the past couple of weeks I have to admit I've gotten into a habit of being dragged into the YouTube world, I mean what more do you want it's basically reality TV on tap. I can sit and watch it for hours.

But when I hit this dark spiral of make up tutorials and vlogs I also find myself drawing my favourites... Well at least something creative is coming from it.

Here are a couple of my sketches. The phenomenon that is Zoella, and Mykie (Glam&Gore) the beauty who doesn't mind making her self look gross.

Keep doing what your doing girls because I will definitely keep watching xxx

The Four Elements

When I was a little girl I would grab hold of my mum’s magazines and flick straight to the back pages that would harbour the weekly horoscope updates, as a young Disney obsessed girl it was the closest form of real magic, the stars looking down upon the earth would whisper to the astrologist what to expect within the week to come, for a young daydreamer it was a lovely thought.

As a proud fiery Aries I still have the biggest interest in astrology, palmistry and the four elements. I truly believe in the characteristics of each element, have a read of where you fall and let me know if you’re a believer.

Fire - Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
"Fire Signs" prompt the warming, glowing, energizing life principle, which can manifest as enthusiasm, creativity, encouragement, and the motivation to express yourself. But just as fire they can combust without a moments notice so be careful you don’t get burnt.

Earth - Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
"Earth Signs" are at one with the world of physical forms and a practical ability to utilize and improve the material world. However earth people are not fond of change, they like stability, why start something new if what is already there is fine?

Air - Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
"Air Signs" are connected with the mind's sensation, perception, and communication, especially when related to personal interaction and to geometrical thought forms and abstract ideas. Air people are said to be out of touch with reality, but they are also very advanced in thinking.

Water - Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

"Water Signs" symbolize the cooling, healing principle of sensitivity, feeling response, and empathy with others. This makes them compassionate, caring and helpful but they are over sensitive and can be easily hurt by others easily.

Empty Casket Jewellery

I came across Empty Casket a year ago when I was after some jewellery that was a little different. Since then I have become a woman possessed and I don't know if that's because their amazing witchy style jewellery has cast a spell over me...

However over the past year I have brought a significant amount from them and their stock keeps getting better making me constantly pop my hand in my pocket and purchase another ring or two, I have also took it upon myself to start asking for somethings as presents (my boyfriend has become a regular)...

But in all seriousness the great thing about Empty Casket is the fact the large majority of their stunning alternative jewellery is all sterling silver and doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. Because of this I'm sure I will continue down this path until I have it all or their is no room left on my body, but yes I have found my little piece of jewellery heaven online and I think you should check it out for yourself. xxx

Maddi's Movie Magic

To all of you film buffs out there you will know there is a lot of must see films coming to the big screen soon. Even if all of them aren't for you, there will definitely be one you will want to see.

These are the three I cannot wait for ...

Number 1. ‘X-men Apocalypse’, I love the X-men films and they are 100% my favourite team of comic heroes, and with another trip down memory lane featuring the sexy James McAvoy as the great Professor X this is definitely on top of my list.

Number 2. ‘Alice through the looking glass’, it's one of my favourite childhood books coming to life again with an array of amazing actors portraying the crazy bunch of wonderland inhibitors.

Number 3. Is ‘Me Before You’, I am the biggest sucker for a romantic film and this looks like one of those heart wrenching stories I will definitely need a box of tissues for, but I will continue to watch any romantic film as I am still waiting for a film that is as beautiful as the notebook (if you know one please let me know)
